Our department has been established in 1960 with a quite limited academic staff core having a wide scientific vision. The goals that have been determined during the foundation period still sustain their availability by evolving at the present day. Our main objectives are attaining the right knowledge, producing novel knowledge and transforming these into application. In accordance with the goals we internalized, we educate individuals who can contribute to scientific and technological evolution and social and cultural life with the frame of universal ethical rules.

Our outstanding academic staff have been successfully continuing research and education activities in the fields of analytical, biochemistry, physical chemistry, inorganic and organic chemistry, beside a significant number of interdisciplinary fields.  Our well recognized academic staff have been teaching the basic scientific knowledge as well as contemporary improvements in their research field.

Our undergraduate laboratories have been designed in such a way as to learn the theoretical knowledge experimentally with contemporary content, and with strict safety rules and environmental sensitivity. Experimental studies of undergraduate students are enriched by the use of research instruments available in our department. Our well-rounded educated graduates continue their master and PhD studies as well as undertaking critical positions in industry. Achievements of our graduates in academy and industry have been a great honor for us.
